Irminism mainly focuses on Westphalian (Saxon, Frankish, Frisian, Gueldrian) mythology, folklore, traditions and linguistics in the Netherlands, Germany and partially England. With its focus on strictly Westphalian customs, it does not use the Icelandic sagas as source material. As it stands, our core beliefs are incompatible with Norse mythology and cannot be considered to be under the "Asatrú" umbrella. For example, within our branch of Irminism 'Tiw' and 'Woden' are one and the same and Friday is (loosely translated) "Woman's day" or "Day of the Goddess(es)". Some other supposed 'deities' are also absent, such as 'Loki', 'Freyr', 'Yngvi' or more infamously, 'Irmin'.

Despite its reputation we still identify as Irminists, as the roots of Irminism predates and rejects Guido von List's work (Ariosophy) and the use of Armanenrunen is not accepted. The symbol is used for purposes of identification and is not an endorsement of any specific ideology or political movement.

This form of Irminism is based in North-Rhine Westphalia and Gelderland. Anyone associated with us speaks Low Saxon, Dutch or German and our writings or other media are published, this website excepted, in those languages. We do not seek to convert others nor do we proselytize.

This website is intended to be a brief summation of Irminism within Westphalia and nothing more.
